Putting it into perspective
by kristi.palma
A mom I know said she’s tired of people ranting and raving about how much their lives suck on Facebook.
As I sit here watching the devastating images coming out of Haiti, I have to agree with her. My son may have refused his nap today. my daughter may be teething, I may need to lose a few pounds, and I sure do miss my family in NY. But my life does not suck.
There are babies crying beneath rubble. Children have been orphaned. There are orphans sleeping outside. People need their limbs cut off in order to be saved. There is a 15 day-old baby with a deep cut on her head. There are people who will never know what happened to their loved ones because they’ve been dumped in mass graves.
No, my life does not suck.
Something like this puts it all into perspective for sure. I pray for those poor people. And I’m counting my blessings.
